Cryptopedia - Grvt
Grvt functions as a self-custodial on-chain wealth platform that merges yield-bearing savings, institutional-level investment options, and spot plus perpetual trading for crypto, equities, and commodities into one unified account balance. Each deposit automatically generates a base yield and serves as collateral throughout the system, removing the necessity to transfer assets between distinct products.
The system runs on a bespoke Layer 2 constructed using the ZKsync ZK Stack in Validium mode. In this setup, transaction validity is verified and settled on Ethereum, but data stays off-chain to maintain trade-flow privacy. Users keep custody of their funds at all times.
Grvt consists of three connected product verticals:
- Earn applies a base yield to all deposits via traditional and on-chain sources, requiring no opt-in.
- Invest offers curated items from established asset managers, such as a market-making vault and tokenized real-world assets, accessible with a $1 minimum and no accreditation needed.
- Trade provides spot and perpetual futures trading across crypto, equities, and commodities.
Composability is a key trait: assets in Earn, Invest, and Trade serve as collateral across the platform without withdrawal or unwinding. The trading engine mixes a central limit order book with a last-look brokerage model to aid liquidity for new markets, while the investment layer employs an automated market maker for on-demand entry and exit of tokenized real-world assets.
The native $GRVT token is an ERC-20 issued on Ethereum, featuring a fixed supply of 1 billion tokens and no minting capability. Holding or staking $GRVT grants membership perks, such as trading fee reductions, higher yield tiers, and priority access to new investment offerings.
