After the midterm elections, the Trump family's crypto assets have begun to be revalued.

The market did not view the election as a broad negative, but instead priced politically exposed assets separately.

The US midterm elections concluded on November 3.

The Democratic Party took control of both the Senate and the House, flipping them blue. During the remainder of his term, the Trump administration will face a Congress controlled by the opposition party, where the prospect of investigations and subpoenas is gradually shifting from verbal rhetoric into actionable instruments.

This shift is also beginning to spill over to cryptocurrency assets directly linked to his family.

During and after vote counting, the official TRUMP token and World Liberty Financial's WLFI experienced double-digit declines, with different data sources showing drops ranging from 11% to 21%.

Meanwhile, Bitcoin and most other assets rose concurrently. Both tokens had already suffered significant drawdowns prior to the election, naturally due to a broad downturn across the crypto market; however, examining performance throughout the election window reveals a clearer narrative:

According to CoinMarketCap data, during and after vote counting, the official TRUMP token fell approximately 21% over a 24-hour period, while WLFI declined by more than 7%. Meanwhile, Bitcoin and most other assets rose concurrently.

Consequently, the market did not treat the election as a systemic negative, but rather assigned a distinct valuation to politically exposed assets.

This movement also has a tangible basis.

Lawmakers set to lead the House Oversight Committee have publicly stated that they will exercise subpoena power to investigate Trump family-related crypto ventures once the new Congress convenes in January.

World Liberty Financial and its affiliated UAE investments are among the primary targets. Prior to this, similar inquiries primarily took the form of letters lacking enforceability. With subpoena authority now available, investigations have transitioned from theoretical to executable, fundamentally altering their deterrence value and market expectations.

Within the same timeframe, another developing thread also signals underlying shifts.

On-chain data indicates that wallets affiliated with Trump Media Group transferred approximately 4,259 BTC to Crypto.com, valued at roughly $344 million.

This transfer nearly aligns perfectly with the 4,260.73 BTC disclosed by the company on June 30 as collateral for convertible notes. Under the loan agreement, these collateral assets are subject to withdrawal restrictions through at least May 2028.

At the same time, note holders hold the right to demand cash settlement on November 30, a payout that could approach $1 billion.

Crypto.com is one of the custodians previously listed by the company. Similar transfers occurred in May and August this year, which the firm explicitly described at the time as custodial reallocations rather than sales. Reporting indicated that shortly following this latest deposit, portions of the funds were subsequently routed to Crypto.com cold wallets.

While the company has yet to issue an official statement regarding this latest transfer, when combined with the election outcome and equity price decline, a synthesis of multiple factors strongly suggests this action is more likely aimed at preparing for the month-end redemption window or rebalancing the custody location of the collateral.

Regardless, this on-chain maneuver was immediately detected by the market. Arriving after election results were finalized, it is easily interpreted as family-linked assets simultaneously navigating financial strain and mounting regulatory pressure.

For TRUMP and WLFI, price action has already front-run this reality. Political connections previously served as a source of premium during bull markets and cyclical upswings, but are now increasingly functioning as a discount multiplier.

Over the past two years, the pricing framework for these assets heavily relied on the simple premise of Trump remaining in office. The election results have dismantled that assumption. Markets must now recalculate how much political premium family-linked crypto operations can sustain once the opposition holds the reins of subpoena authority.
