POLLEN acts as the governance token for Beraborrow, allowing holders to take part in protocol governance and earn liquidity incentives. It allows the system to capture value from Proof of Liquidity without needing to establish a separate rewards vault for each NECT (the stablecoin) application. By leveraging the Beraborrow protocol, POLLEN provides a method to gain greater exposure to Berachain governance. This design creates a flywheel effect: increased NECT utility draws more users to Beraborrow for leverage, which raises total interest rates and fees directed to the sPOLLEN Berachain reward vault. Consequently, more value is available to incentivize liquidity, continuing the cycle.
