CoinWorldCap Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Welcome to the CWC Help Center. Below you'll find answers to the most commonly asked questions about cryptocurrency data, listings, and platform features.

How are cryptocurrency prices calculated on CWC?

Prices are derived using our Market Data methodology. We collect, aggregate, and evaluate trading data from supported exchanges to generate a weighted average price.

What is "Market Capitalization"? How is it calculated?

Market Capitalization represents the relative size of a cryptocurrency in the market. Market Cap = Price x Circulating Supply. It is widely used as an indicator of a project's market presence and value.

What is the difference between Circulating Supply, Total Supply, and Max Supply?

Circulating Supply: The estimated number of coins currently available to the public. Total Supply: The total number of coins currently in existence (excluding burned tokens). Max Supply: The theoretical maximum number of coins that will ever exist.

What is the difference between a Coin and a Token?

Coins operate independently on their own blockchain. Tokens rely on an existing blockchain (e.g., ERC-20 tokens on Ethereum).

Does CWC provide an API?

Yes! CWC offers a comprehensive, high-performance API with generous rate limits. Our market data API powers numerous applications, trading tools, and analytics platforms. It is available for both personal and commercial use.

How often is market data updated?

Price, trading volume, and market cap are updated every 1–10 minutes. Circulating supply updates every 5 minutes. Developer, social, and website analytics are updated daily. All timestamps are in UTC.

What is the Trust Score for exchanges?

CWC incorporates a Trust Score system designed to combat inflated or manipulated trading volumes. Trust Scores reflect liquidity depth, operational scale, and API reliability. Exchange-level Trust Scores are rated on a scale of 1 to 10.

Is CWC a wallet or exchange?

No. CWC is not a wallet, exchange, or escrow service. We are a data and analytics platform. You can find supported exchanges for any asset by visiting its Markets section.

How can a project apply to be listed?

If your project meets our listings criteria, submit an application via our official listing form. Our listing standards focus on transparency, operational legitimacy, liquidity, and data verifiability.
