Cryptopedia - OpenGradient
OpenGradient functions as the Network for Open Intelligence, providing a decentralized infrastructure built to host, run inference on, and verify AI models at scale. Instead of acting as an independent blockchain, it serves as a specialized AI coprocessor. This setup allows blockchains, applications, and autonomous agents to delegate resource-intensive AI computations to a dedicated network comprising GPU and Trusted Execution Environment (TEE) nodes. Before any result is committed on-chain, the validator set checks every computational proof—whether a TEE attestation or a zkML proof—at the consensus level. This process facilitates trustless AI usage across any application or network.
The platform addresses the “AI Black Box” issue found in traditional cloud-based AI, where users must blindly trust providers regarding model and data usage. On OpenGradient, tasks such as DeFi risk forecasts, reasoning steps by autonomous agents, or basic LLM queries are executed securely. These jobs produce cryptographic traces that are preserved and verified on-chain, confirming the specific model used, the data accessed, and ensuring the computation remained untampered. Every inference job must pass cryptographic verification (via TEE attestation or zkML proof) at the consensus level before on-chain acceptance.
To date, the network has generated more than 4.2 million blocks and handled over 1.85 million on-chain transactions. Daily activity includes more than 10,000 transactions, with over 263,500 unique wallets having interacted with the system. The ecosystem features the OpenGradient Model Hub, a permissionless repository enabling developers to upload, access, and monetize AI models. Currently, the hub contains more than 2,000 models from over 100 developers, has delivered more than 2 million verifiable inferences, and created over 500,000 cryptographic proofs.
Various consumer applications have already launched on the OpenGradient network, showcasing the expanding ecosystem. BitQuant is an AI-driven quantitative trading agent that lets users engage with algorithmic trading strategies via natural language and automated analysis. MemSync acts as a universal AI memory layer, providing persistent, cross-application memory for AI systems so agents and apps can store, retrieve, and expand upon past interactions. Twin.Fun operates as an AI personality marketplace where users can create, trade, and interact with distinct AI-driven digital personas. Collectively, these tools demonstrate how OpenGradient serves as a foundational platform for a rising ecosystem of consumer AI products, spanning financial agents, memory infrastructure, and AI-native marketplaces.
