Autonolas (OLAS) combines blockchain infrastructure with artificial intelligence. Its base layer is the Gnosischain, chosen for its security and efficiency, which underpins the reliability of operations within the ecosystem. The network’s integrity is maintained through Autonolas governance.
A key component is the Autonomous Keeper Service (AKS), which permits anyone to act as a keeper without requiring special permissions. This permissionless model supports decentralization by allowing broad participation in network security and function. The AKS coordinates and incentivizes autonomous agents—AI-driven programs that interact with on-chain and off-chain data to execute complex logic and deliver services, thereby forming AI economies.
The protocol is not restricted to one chain; it is currently deployed across eight different blockchains, enhancing its utility and reach. Primary applications include decentralized finance (DeFi) and prediction markets, where agents can provide liquidity, execute trades, and generate predictions using real-time data.
The OLAS token is central to the system, serving roles in both staking and governance. Users stake OLAS to run off-chain services essential for network operation. Additionally, locking OLAS into veOLAS grants governance rights, enabling holders to influence the protocol’s future direction.
Off-chain services like oracles, automation, and co-owned AI are coordinated by the OLAS token, creating a unified decentralized network. For developers, the platform provides advanced tools for smart contract development, facilitating the creation of sophisticated decentralized applications (dApps) through a composable stack that allows seamless service integration.
One notable application is Governatooorr, an AI-enabled governance delegate for Decentralized Autonomous Organizations (DAOs). It uses autonomous agent technology to participate in governance decisions, aiming to make DAO management more efficient and intelligent.
The public token launch occurred via a liquidity bootstrapping pool in July 2023, marking a milestone for liquidity and community support. The OLAS token also fuels a developer incentive system designed to expand ecosystem services. Governance members can use protocol OLAS to boost ETH donations to services composed of autonomous agents and software components. Furthermore, token holders can bond LP shares involving OLAS into the protocol to increase protocol-owned liquidity, referred to as 'useful capital'.
Autonolas is steadily growing and regularly adding support for new chains. The project aims to be deployed on every major blockchain to power core off-chain services, working toward a vision of a unified network of off-chain services.
