Cryptopedia - Bitcoin.ℏ
Bitcoin.ℏ (BTC.ℏ) is a fixed-supply digital asset built for integration into payment applications and systems. It is issued on the Hedera Hashgraph network via the Hedera Token Service (HTS).
The total supply is capped at 21,000,000 tokens, with the entire amount minted at launch in March 2024. The asset aims to serve as a settlement layer for digital transactions, focusing specifically on scenarios requiring high-frequency, low-cost payments.
The project functions within an ecosystem comprising developer integrations, application-layer platforms, and structured distribution initiatives. These programs distribute BTC.ℏ to developers, integrators, and platforms that build applications using the token for payment processing and access control. Public distribution efforts are designed to facilitate onboarding and practical usage within supported environments.
Among the application-layer systems currently under development is inkjug™, a micro-payments monetization platform. inkjug is designed to allow direct digital transactions where funds move from users to recipients without platform custody, triggering access to content or functionality upon transaction completion.
BTC.ℏ targets payment-centric use cases such as pay-per-access content, digital goods, API usage, and in-application transactions. Its design prioritizes fast settlement, predictable costs, and usability in contexts where traditional payment methods may cause friction.
The underlying network architecture provides fast transaction finality and lower resource consumption compared to Proof-of-Work systems. BTC.ℏ operates in an environment that supports protocol-level adaptability, including the potential to adopt evolving cryptographic standards.
Bitcoin.ℏ is a functional digital asset. It does not confer equity, ownership, or revenue rights. Its purpose is to facilitate transactions within digital systems, not to act as a financial instrument.
