TechFlow Guide: The crypto industry has just experienced one of the most severe security blows in history, with Binance suffering a theft exceeding $6.3 billion in funds. However, the market did not spiral into panic-driven declines; instead, it demonstrated increasingly strong downside resilience and capital absorption capacity. Under the shadow of this macro black swan event, various native protocols deeply cultivating real-world industries and institutional finance are experiencing large-scale breakthroughs.

This report focuses on four frontier trends: first, the on-chain protocol Re, based on the trillion-dollar real-world reinsurance market, whose total deposits surged from $300 million to $400 million in just 40 days, outperforming most traditional assets with low-correlation real-world yields ranging from 7.14% to 12.56%; second, the lending protocol USDai, targeting the mid-market for distributed AI compute, which aims to become the universal settlement dollar for thousands of compute cloud providers through a "bridge via on-chain vaults and package for institutional resale" model.

Additionally, the report closely tracks the underlying adapter Quant ($QNT) connecting the trillion-dollar banking clearing network with blockchains, the new prediction market player Trueo ($TRUE) entering the DeFiLlama traffic gateway, and a sophisticated financial engineering design inspired by Pendle’s principal-yield separation concept, which splits tokenized US equities into intraday (SESSION) and overnight (OVERNIGHT) time exposure tokens (IETs).

Last week, the entire crypto industry suffered one of the most severe security blows in history, with hackers stealing over $6.3 billion in massive assets from the Binance exchange.

However, this rare major black swan event did not automatically push the broader market into a cliff-like drop, clearly reflecting that current crypto capital is demonstrating increasingly mature resilience against systemic extreme events.

While closely reviewing the full scope of the Binance theft, this report will also focus on the following core topics:

Reinsurance protocol Re introduces genuine RWA yields with low correlation to the crypto market through on-chain reinsurance business, with its total deposits for reUSD and reUSDe officially crossing the $400 million mark.

An interview with USDai Co-founder and CEO David Choi, deeply breaking down why this protocol strives to become the universal settlement dollar for the global artificial intelligence compute industry.

Market momentum asset review: focusing on $QNT, the underlying infrastructure provider connecting cross-border banks and blockchain networks, and $TRUE, the new force in prediction markets that has recently integrated into DeFiLlama’s front-end distribution traffic.

Reinsurance Protocol Re Deposits Cross the $400 Million Mark

Fig: Total deposits of on-chain reinsurance protocol Re break through $400 million

Re is an innovative on-chain reinsurance protocol that allows liquidity providers to deposit stablecoin assets, which are directly used as backing collateral for paying claims on traditionally regulated reinsurance policies. The global traditional reinsurance industry is a mature financial branch exceeding $760 billion in annual scale.

The industry's massive existing scale, institutions' urgent demand for on-chain non-correlated insurance yields, and the protocol's extreme polishing of DeFi composability have collectively driven exponential growth for Re.

This week, the total deposit scale of Re's two yield-bearing stablecoins, reUSD and reUSDe, officially broke through the $400 million mark, with current annualized net yields reaching 7.14% and 12.56% respectively. This yield level significantly outperforms short-term US Treasuries, institutional unsecured lending, and basis arbitrage among many traditional strategies, continuously attracting substantial incremental capital inflows.

Fig: Current annualized yield comparison and historical stability performance of reUSD and reUSDe

A more critical signal lies in the rapidly accelerating growth momentum of stablecoin capital retention. Previously, Re's deposits took 186 days to grow from $200 million to $300 million, while moving from $300 million to $400 million took only 40 days, fully demonstrating the market's strong appetite for allocating capital to on-chain real-world reinsurance yields.

All absorbed liquidity capital has been deployed into real-world production operations:

Since the protocol went live, the cumulative signed and effective reinsurance premium volume has reached $510.5 million.

In October alone, the protocol injected $65 million exclusively to Cover Re to fully support its business expansion in 2027.

Since its inception, over $13 million in tangible profits have been distributed to reUSD and reUSDe holders.

DeFi composability constitutes the optimal distribution channel driving Re's rapid expansion, with reUSD currently widely deployed across 14 different public chain ecosystem networks.

Recent ecosystem integrations have further broadened its liquidity leverage applications: from reUSD recursive loan leverage on Jupiter Lend on Solana, to PT-reUSD recursive strategies on Monad. Additionally, PT-reUSD is one of the first three lending markets established in Pendle's high-yield USDC vault on the Morpho platform, significantly strengthening its liquidity potential as a quality collateral.

This deep interlocking with DeFi forms a powerful growth flywheel: reinsurance is a highly industrial business that brings strong, certain cash flows to fund providers, with performance outperforming most on-chain assets; when this underlying yield-generating asset can be further nested into complex leverage and borrowing lego blocks, it greatly unleashes asset potential and triggers doubled allocation demand.

We firmly believe reinsurance is a highly strategically valuable blue ocean track on-chain, because it introduces a purely native external yield source with almost zero correlation to the secondary crypto market, where cash flow depends on policy loss ratios rather than token price fluctuations, helping on-chain stablecoin capital consistently earn steady returns and remain in the Web3 environment during extreme market turbulence.

The AI Compute Settlement Dollar: Interview with USDai Co-founder & CEO David Choi

USDai is a decentralized lending protocol focused on providing GPU mortgage loans to artificial intelligence compute infrastructure companies, with all debts denominated in its native stablecoin $USDai. The protocol recently executed a $1 million buyback of its governance token $CHIP using actual business revenue and formally established a programmatic buyback mechanism.

To deeply explore the team's strategic ambitions and how they project industry evolution over the next few years, we conducted an in-depth interview with USDai Co-founder and CEO David Choi.

As a lending protocol, USDai's commercial flywheel depends on the genuine vitality of underlying borrowing demand, which is undergoing profound structural fragmentation. The largest borrowing demand is currently concentrated in the so-called "Compute Middle Market." As David analyzed: "Power metrics have become an absolute rigid constraint, meaning data center construction scales are trending smaller: past mega campuses of 250 megawatts are being fragmented into dispersed modular clusters of 2 to 5 megawatts. This means the market sees a surge in compute operators needing medium-sized loans of $5 million to $100 million, rather than just a few super giants needing billions."

Although borrowing demand in the mid-market is extremely vigorous, USDai's core moat that sets it apart from traditional Wall Street lending institutions lies in its ability to handle small-to-medium sized orders with great economic efficiency.

This is the unique dimensionality-reduction strike capability released by on-chain crypto capital: USDai can "execute ultra-fast standard loan disbursements in minutes via smart contracts, hold the asset on-chain to build a solid repayment credit record, and then package and resell it to traditional financial institutions that initially would absolutely refuse to start from scratch and incur costs for due diligence."

USDai names this unique business model "Season-and-Sell." The reason for adopting this model is that on-chain crypto capital "views instant liquidity as the primary demand, while Wall Street's professional credit funds are relatively insensitive to capital duration." The team has already successfully completed its first sample transaction: successfully routing and settling a $106 million GPU financing asset package to top private credit firms Silver Point and Victory Park.

Through this architecture, USDai fundamentally avoids heavy-asset competition with traditional financial giants, instead cleverly playing the role of a "premium credit asset deep-processing manufacturer."

"The on-chain ecosystem is a high-turnover raw material assembly workshop; while commercial banks, private credit funds, and insurance capital are the final permanent docking destinations for these high-quality credit assets."

Regarding the recently announced protocol value alignment and programmatic buybacks, David elaborated on the deep considerations for launching the buyback at this point: "We chose to launch now because the entire commercial loop has been thoroughly validated. We successfully originated loans on-chain, completed asset incubation, and smoothly sold the creditor rights to traditional buyers. This milestone marks the protocol's complete departure from the heavy-asset model of solely consuming its own balance sheet, elegantly transforming into a light-asset asset generation engine that operates on high turnover and fee collection."

Furthermore, as the lending network volume continues to expand, the sourcing structure of buyback capital will undergo a qualitative leap. Currently, buybacks mainly rely on net interest margin income from staked receipts sUSDai; but as the outstanding USDai circulation scale explodes across the network, CHIP token holders will be able to directly trigger the underlying cut-rate network of the USDai stablecoin itself as a settlement currency. This is precisely the North Star vision of our entire protocol.

At the end of the interview, when asked about USDai's ultimate form, the team delivered a definitive statement: "To become the universal settlement dollar for the global AI compute industry."

If USDai can provide financial vitality to the future 10,000 emerging compute cloud providers (Neoclouds), "what will sit on their balance sheets will all be the same USD-denominated token, and their mutual compute scheduling and leasing will be fully cleared through this single dollar."

Aftermath of Binance's Historic Theft: Hacker Fund Flows and Market Resilience

On October 29, the world's largest crypto exchange Binance suffered the most devastating attack in crypto history, with stolen assets totaling approximately $6.36 billion, a scale even exceeding the combined losses of the previous seven worst hacker thefts in history.

Fig: Direct comparison of stolen amount at Binance versus the top seven hacker incidents in crypto history

However, in this crisis, a positive micro-development lies in: stablecoin issuers Tether and Circle reacted extremely swiftly after the incident erupted, decisively freezing a significant portion of the stolen funds (approximately $3 billion) on-chain, while Binance quickly covered the remaining exposure with its robust treasury reserves and fully restored normal withdrawal services within a very short timeframe.

Another intriguing detail of this incident is that senior members of the North Korean government unusually and swiftly stepped forward to publicly deny any involvement in this heist targeting Binance. In the past, the North Korean government typically remained silent or responded slowly to hacker allegations, but this lightning denial by high-level officials marks a first.

Of course, this cannot completely clear its suspicions in a legal sense, but its rushed stance to draw a line to some extent reflects subtle geopolitical avoidance, especially considering that relevant US law enforcement and national security departments have explicitly stated they will conduct a thorough investigation into this attack.

In-Depth Observation of Momentum Assets: Institutional Breakthrough Paths for Quant and Trueo

Let's first examine $QNT.

Quant Network (QNT) has recently gained extremely high focus in the institutional finance circle, known as the "universal protocol adapter" between major commercial banks and underlying blockchains. Any traditional commercial bank needs only complete one system integration to freely access data across different heterogeneous blockchains and internal traditional banking clearing ledgers, completely eliminating the massive technical burden of repeatedly building underlying gateways for every new public chain.

The true inflection point for this project began when the Clearing House Group, which has shareholder backgrounds involving dozens of large US banks, publicly confirmed in September that it is using Quant Network's underlying infrastructure for tokenized deposit settlement testing.

From a business positioning perspective, QNT fundamentally does not need to compete with other mainstream public chain tokens for ecosystem liquidity; its role is to serve as an infrastructure provider empowering traditional licensed banks to seamlessly embrace blockchain. Therefore, the surging wave of global financial asset tokenization makes Quant Network's institutional adoption rate increasingly certain.

The existing traditional clearing channels RTP and CHIPS of the Clearing House Group transfer over $2 trillion in daily volume. Even if just a tiny fraction of this proceeds in the future through tokenized deposits coordinated by Quant, the corresponding capital scale would be enough to spark infinite imagination in the market.

However, from a secondary market valuation perspective, its circulating market cap has reached approximately $2.8 billion, with the core focus for the future lying in whether and how massive enterprise software adoption can substantively feed back into the QNT token itself.

Another momentum asset worth watching is $TRUE.

This project captures the fastest-growing prediction market track across the entire network. Currently, the vast majority of trading volume in this track is tightly held by the two oligarchs, Polymarket and Kalshi.

Fig: Explosive upward trend in overall network prediction market trading volume over recent months

After announcing a deep strategic partnership with the network's largest data platform DeFiLlama (DL), Trueo seamlessly embedded its prediction contract module directly into the front end of the DeFiLlama main site, with all prediction targets screened and presented directly by DL based on its massive on-chain data, instantly granting Trueo full endorsement from a top-tier vertical traffic gateway.

Both tokens recorded impressive gains in recent secondary market trading, precisely capturing capital momentum in their respective niche sectors.

Quant has completed the accumulation of its underlying infrastructure and begun providing technological foundations for super-large institutions; while Trueo attempts to tear open a gap in the ironclad duopoly格局 formed by Polymarket and Kalshi. Although its path ahead is undoubtedly fraught with difficulties, its high-speed cold-start strategy leveraging leverage from industry top-tier traffic nodes indeed demonstrates extraordinary operational standards.

Frontier Radar: Overnight and Intraday Exposure Splitting Mechanism for Tokenized US Equities

Recently, Beans innovatively launched "Isolated Exposure Tokens" (IETs). This mechanism deeply draws on the financial engineering philosophy of interest rate swap leader Pendle, which splits principal and interest into principal tokens (PT) and yield tokens (YT). Through pledge and redemption mechanisms, it precisely separates tokenized US equities into two independent, non-interfering time exposure tokens: namely the "overnight token" (OVERNIGHT) representing US equity market close to next-day open movements, and the "intraday token" (SESSION) representing normal daytime trading session movements from open to close.

Traders can freely trade these two independent time exposures on-chain, enabling advanced long-short arbitrage strategies targeting specific time windows like US earnings release nights and sudden non-farm payroll data releases to achieve highly programmable execution on the blockchain for the first time.

Additionally, the Castle Labs team will release an in-depth interview podcast featuring Re Co-founder Karn Saroya this week, comprehensively analyzing the technological breakthroughs and future development roadmap of the on-chain reinsurance track. Stay tuned.
