Phuture (PHTR) operates as a crypto index platform intended to make cryptocurrency investing simpler. Built on an open design philosophy, it facilitates passive investment strategies by giving users the tools to build new indices or invest in those established by others.

The service merges an easy-to-use interface with robust features. For instance, the Index Creator streamlines the process of making indices through customizable options such as dynamic weighting methods and automatic sector tracking.

To ensure scalability, the protocol enables a single swap to rebalance several indexes at once. This mechanism identifies the best assets for rebalancing and sets acceptable weight ranges, which allows the platform to support hundreds of indices, reduces value loss during trades, and enhances index productivity.

In early May 2021, the Phuture protocol announced it had finished its private seed fundraising round. The round raised approximately $1.5 million with support from notable VC firms such as Ascensive Assets, NGC Ventures, SevenX, Origin Capital, Waterdrip Capital, Moonrock Capital, and D64.

Phuture was co-founded by three individuals:

• Charles Storry serves as the Head of Growth. Prior to launching Phuture, he held a partnership role at SVK Crypto, a venture capital firm located in London.
• Alex Melnichuk is the Tech Lead. He brings more than ten years of software development experience and previously co-established Pragma Development Studios before co-founding Phuture.
• Oliver Mehr acts as the Head of Product. Like Charles, he worked as a partner at the London-based venture capital company SVK Crypto before co-founding Phuture.

Phuture enables any user to create indices utilizing assets on the Ethereum (ETH) blockchain. The platform’s index creation tools allow its portfolio to expand alongside the market by incorporating new sectors. Holders of the PHTR token can actively shape the protocol’s evolution and take part in key decision-making processes. Phuture reduces opportunity costs by employing third-party profitability optimizers.

The system ensures rebalancing and off-platform performance by clustering index assets into groups of similar items. This aggregated structure allows Phuture to scale effectively as more indexes are added to the platform. By leveraging the 0x API, Phuture gathers liquidity throughout the Ethereum network, which enhances execution and provides access to a broad variety of assets. Additionally, there is no liquidity recovery phase, permitting users to establish indices with any assets without one-way deposit limits, though this applies only during the initial stage.

A rebalancing range formula helps maintain system safety during substantial price fluctuations by triggering when an asset’s price moves outside the designated range, preventing unexpected behavior in the rebalancing mechanism. The aggregate design also boosts asset performance. To generate additional yield and facilitate asset withdrawals, the platform is required to keep a specific reserve level to support rebalancing and maturity. Keepers are utilized to ensure the platform operates continuously by executing core protocol tasks, including reweighting, recapitalization, and rebalancing.

Phuture (PHTR) serves as the utility token for the Phuture protocol, fulfilling roles such as governance, distributing user rewards, encouraging activity, and facilitating capital raising. Holders possess voting power to shape protocol development and propose enhancements. Staking PHTR yields ePHTRs, which produce income, while the token also helps boost index liquidity. Additionally, custodians are rewarded with PHTR for executing essential platform tasks.

The total supply stands at 100,000,000 tokens, distributed in this manner: 53% to the foundation, 25% to the team, 18% to the seed sale, 3% to advisors, and 1% to the public sale. As of May 2021, no tokens had been released to the public. However, the team has stated plans for an initial DEX offering (IDO) via Polkastarter.

The Phuture Network relies on the security of the Ethereum blockchain, as PHTR is an ERC-20-compatible token. Smart contracts automatically manage all operations on the Phuture platform.
