Cryptopedia - ChainOpera AI
ChainOpera AI (COAI) operates as a full-stack, blockchain-based platform for artificial intelligence. It aims to foster collaborative intelligence by allowing its community to co-create and co-own a network of AI models and agents. The system unifies three main functions under one protocol: an end-user AI application, a developer environment for building agents, and a decentralized layer providing GPU and model resources.
The project’s long-term vision is to establish “crypto AGI,” an intelligence that is collectively owned and built, expanding as more data, agents, and computing power connect to the network. This structure seeks to support use cases in payments, real-world asset tokenization (RWA), decentralized finance (DeFi), and other digital services, while reducing entry barriers for both AI and crypto adoption.
The ecosystem consists of four key parts:
- AI Terminal Super App: Serving as the main entry point to the decentralized AI economy, this app is consistently ranked among the top AI decentralized applications and has over 2M users. It features a “Super Agent” that manages specialized agents for multi-step crypto tasks, along with an Agent Social Network that allows humans and AI agents to work together in shared chat spaces.
- Agent Developer Platform: Used by more than 100,000 developers, this toolset enables the design, launch, and monetization of AI agents. It provides no-code workflows, APIs, templates, and a multi-agent framework, letting creators deploy agents directly into the Agent Social Network and AI Terminal. The platform transparently tracks and ranks agent activity to showcase performance and usage.
- Model and GPU Platform: This decentralized marketplace distributes AI inference and training tasks across cloud providers and devices to ensure scalable, verifiable performance. Users contribute data, models, and compute resources, with specific mechanisms in place to verify performance and uphold reliability.
- AI-Native Blockchain Protocol: The underlying protocol employs a Proof of Intelligence mechanism to openly measure and validate inputs from resource providers, developers, and users. It logs interactions between compute resources, data sources, and AI agents, enabling the network to evaluate the impact and quality of each participant’s contribution.
The founding team comprises experts in information theory, blockchain systems, and AI, with a focus on decentralized and federated machine learning. They previously developed enterprise-grade platforms for large-scale agent deployment and generative AI model services. Their background includes academic and industry experience from institutions like MIT, Stanford, USC, and UC Berkeley, as well as tech giants such as Apple, Baidu, Meta, Amazon, and Google.
