A Polygon community proposal calls for a coordinated Polygon PoS hard fork to zero the balances of five attacker-controlled addresses holding about 70.49 million POL and credit the same amount to recovery addresses designated by Binance and Polymarket. The proposal, covering roughly $6.5 million in stolen assets, has triggered debate over governance intervention, decentralization and the precedent of rewriting blockchain state after major exploits.
