The Mantle token (MNT) functions as the native gas and ecosystem growth token for Mantle, while also acting as the governance token for Mantle Governance. The community of MNT holders will vote to launch all upcoming Mantle products, which will be supported by the token.

There is a total supply of 3,172,988,154 MNT tokens. Currently, 51% of this supply is in circulation, with the remaining 49% held in the Mantle Treasury.

Mantle Network utilizes a rollup design, which means its security is derived from Ethereum. It also holds the distinction of being the initial Layer 2 solution to collaborate with the ETH restaking service EigenLayer for its data availability component.
