Cryptopedia - Rails
Rails operates as a fully regulated entity providing infrastructure for crypto derivatives and trading. It functions as a compliant backend solution that allows fintechs, brokerages, and institutions to offer crypto derivatives via a single integration, eliminating the need for them to build the system themselves. This service supplies the regulatory framework, execution capabilities, and liquidity.
The platform rests on three core pillars:
- Regulatory Compliance: As a fully regulated company (registered with CIMA and pending NFA registration), Rails adheres to KYC/KYB standards.
- Institutional-Grade Execution: A hybrid architecture combines a centralized order matching engine for sub-millisecond trade execution with on-chain custody to maintain decentralized control of user funds.
- Trader Education: Through the Rails Play platform, traders can learn to trade crypto perpetuals and secure funded accounts by completing low-fee evaluations.
Looking ahead to Q2 2026, Rails plans to launch institutional-grade vaults on the Stellar blockchain to supply the deep liquidity required for scaling with institutional adoption. The product roadmap also includes Options Trading in Q2 to broaden the suite of offerings.
To date, Rails has secured over $20 Million in total funding, which includes a $14 Million raise in 2025. Backers include Kraken, Slow Ventures, and CMCC Global.
