Blur is built to outperform competitors in specific areas, particularly regarding the contentious issue of NFT creator royalties. The platform attempts to balance the interests of traders and creators by rewarding users who pay royalties with additional BLUR tokens.
Unlike OpenSea, Blur does not fully enforce secondary market creator royalties. However, in a bold move in February 2023, it declared that collections blocking sales on OpenSea would be allowed to collect their full royalty fees on Blur.
Although the interface is optimized for professional traders, new users can still access its benefits if they invest time in learning the system. Blur differentiates itself with tools designed to enhance trading efficiency and potentially increase profits, including allegedly faster sweep and snipe capabilities, live price data, and price-based sorting. As an aggregator, it integrates with LooksRare (LOOK), X2Y2, and OpenSea.
The platform charges zero trading fees on NFT sales. Additionally, its portfolio tab allows users to monitor their holdings, providing details on rarity, valuation, profit and loss, and other metrics.
