Most current launchpads lack safeguards for users' principal capital against volatility, making IDO participation highly risky. SuiPad addresses this with an Insurance feature designed to protect that principal. Participants can opt to allocate 15% of their investment toward insurance, with fees directed to the SuiPad Shield Pool. This pool covers any loss in principal over the subsequent 7 days. Specifically, on the 7th day post-IDO launch, if the average peak price (UTC+0) falls below the IDO price, the pool reimburses the difference. If the project performs well, returns equal infinity% minus the 15% insurance cost.
Insurance Protocol Mechanism
- Participants choose whether to purchase SuiPad Shield.
- Insurance fees go directly into the insurance pool.
- Funds are used to repay IDO investment losses.
- After 7 days, the DAO calculates the 7-day average peak price (UTC+0).
- If this average drops below the IDO price, the difference is covered. Should the insurance pool lack sufficient funds, capital raised from the project IDO will be utilized.
- Unused insurance pool funds accumulate for future launches.
SuiPad Staking & Tiering
The SuiPad Tier System is central to the platform, requiring commitment via $SUIP staking to access IDOs. Staking and tiering are linked; specific tiers require staking the following amounts:
- Ruby: 2,500 SUIP staked
- Sapphire: 5,000 SUIP staked
- Emerald: 10,000 SUIP staked
- Diamond: 30,000 SUIP staked
- Crown: 50,000 SUIP staked
- Sui: 100,000 SUIP staked
Higher stakes yield higher tiers and larger IDO allocations. A 15-day cool-down period applies after staking. The team states they constantly review tiering, weightage, and distribution to ensure fairness.
SuiPad Lock Multiplier
This system allows stakers to achieve higher tiers without adding tokens by locking their stake for a set term to receive a multiplier:
- 3 months → 1.3x Multiplier
- 6 months → 1.5x Multiplier
- 12 months → 2x Multiplier
For instance, if Kelly stakes 2,500 SUIP (Ruby tier) and locks it for 12 months, she receives a 2x multiplier. The smart contract recognizes this as 5,000 SUIP, granting her Sapphire tier status. After 12 months, her tier reverts to Ruby upon unlocking, allowing her to unstake the original 2,500 SUIP. This mechanism lets committed community members earn higher tiers and contribute to governance without extra capital.
SuiPad Shark Tank (SuiTank)
SuiTank is a reality show series where Web3 builders pitch to venture capitalists ("Sharks") for investment. Builders, designers, or operators present viable but underfunded projects. Before pitching, participants specify a funding target and the equity percentage offered. Rules state that if they fail to raise at least this amount, they receive nothing. Sharks question the pitches, leading to either an investment offer or withdrawal. The show aims to educate the community on project analysis and provide a platform for builders to showcase products and raise funds.
SuiPad Academy
SuiPad Academy is a 16-week full online Web3 coding bootcamp training individuals to become developers. The full-time program covers front-end and back-end technologies, computer science fundamentals, and Web3 development with SuiMove as the core. Remote classes are live and interactive, featuring one-on-one help, mentorship, real product building, and code reviews. The academy also assists with employment through interview prep, portfolio reviews, resume tips, and salary negotiation practice. Participation requires purchasing and staking $6,000 worth of $SUIP tokens on SuiPad for the 16-week duration.
