Cryptopedia - Stable Coin
Stable Coin (SBC) is a digital dollar stablecoin issued by Brale, which operates as a registered MSB and licensed money transmitter within the U.S. The asset is fully backed and allows for 1:1 redemption into U.S. dollars, with a design focused on preserving the safety of backing assets and ensuring liquidity for redemptions.
This multi-chain compatible token is deployed across Ethereum, Avalanche, Polygon, Celo, Base, Optimism, and Stellar. Its reserves consist of cash, cash equivalents, and U.S. treasuries held at regulated financial institutions, and the system is designed to support multiple issuers.
SBC entered its alpha phase on 3/08/2023. It currently holds a market cap of $6,544,066, maintained by 1:1 fiat reserve backing.
The team behind Brale has spent over a decade developing regulated financial products. At Dwolla, they helped invent Banking-as-a-Service (BaaS), enabling tens of billions in annual transaction volume for more than 10 million end users. Stable Coin aims to merge centralized best practices with decentralized protocols.
Users can issue and redeem Stable Coin through Brale, and it is available for trading on Uniswap.
