Live updates: 2026 U.S. midterm elections

America goes to the polls
The U.S. midterm election results will start to roll in soon, as voters choose their representatives and senators for the next two years. While crypto is not a major issue for voters in this election, the results will define the industry’s regulatory and legislative engagement through the remainder of President Donald Trump’s term in office.
The first sets of polls close at 7:00 p.m. ET, though some early vote results from in-person early voting may get reported sooner. CoinDesk is tracking three different categories of races tonight: Key races that might indicate which party is having a better night, races that crypto political action committees and other donors put money into, and Senate races categorized as “tossup” by Cook Political Report.
While results will begin being reported at 7:00 p.m., it’s not certain that all races will be called Tuesday night or Wednesday morning. Check back periodically for updates and analysis on what the results we do get mean for the crypto industries.
