Cryptopedia - Switchboard Protocol
Switchboard Protocol functions as a comprehensive oracle solution, enabling users to generate rapid, adaptable, and verifiable data feeds for Web3 and DeFi projects without requiring permission.
Launched in 2021, the project operates on the premise that decentralized finance requires decentralized data infrastructure. It aims to let users independently build their own price or data feeds to power next-generation Web3 apps on high-performance blockchains. Although it began on SOL, Switchboard currently supports a wide variety of SVM, MOVE, and EVM ecosystems.
According to the team, Switchboard is the first oracle network at scale to utilize both economic security and Trusted Execution Environments (TEEs). This approach facilitates low-latency data feeds and permissionless creation. The architecture allows for ultra-fast data delivery while securely managing user API keys for customized data streams, ensuring user security remains intact. Switchboard positions itself as the quickest method to deliver data on-chain reliably and with high performance for Web3 applications.
