Cryptopedia - qONE
qONE ($qONE) is a quantum-safe token launched on the Hyperliquid network, serving as a core component of the qLABS ecosystem. qLABS operates as a quantum-native crypto foundation aiming to prepare the digital asset space for post-quantum security challenges. The project seeks to integrate patented and patent-pending quantum-resistant technologies into Web3 to shield digital assets from threats posed by advancing quantum computing capabilities.
Current blockchain security largely depends on classical public-key cryptography, including RSA, ECDSA, and DSA. While these methods are secure under present computational assumptions, they possess structural weaknesses against quantum algorithms like Shor’s algorithm. Such algorithms could efficiently factor large integers and compute discrete logarithms, potentially allowing private keys to be derived from public data. This event, known as Q-Day, would compromise digital signatures and undermine blockchain network security.
To address these systemic risks, qLABS is developing infrastructure focused on long-term cryptographic viability. The ecosystem comprises four main elements:
- $qONE, a quantum-resistant ecosystem asset.
- qVAULT.xyz, described as the first quantum-safe vault designed to protect crypto from quantum attacks at the smart contract level.
- The qONE Security Protocol, which facilitates on-chain validation of quantum-resistant transactions.
- Intellectual property created in partnership with 01 Quantum, a publicly listed Canadian cybersecurity firm with expertise in post-quantum solutions.
The qONE Security Protocol merges zero-knowledge proofs with post-quantum cryptographic algorithms standardized by the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). This design aims to ensure secure, efficient, and verifiable transactions that remain compatible with existing blockchain systems. The protocol intends to support the cryptographic resilience of major digital assets such as Ethereum, HYPE, USDT, USDC, and Solana against quantum adversaries. Through these efforts, qLABS plans to provide foundational infrastructure for a quantum-secure Web3 environment, mitigating risks for both institutional and individual participants.
