Block Street was established by a group of technologists and quantitative finance experts who possess backgrounds in both conventional financial institutions and Web3 infrastructure. This blend places the firm at the crossroads of institutional markets and on-chain capital systems.
Hedy Wang serves as CEO and Co-Founder. Her prior roles include leading quantitative portfolio strategies at prominent Wall Street hedge funds and private equity firms, such as Apollo and Point72’s Cubist Systematic Strategies. She also worked as Risk Lead at Capital One, managing the creation of large-scale financial risk models. Hedy earned a degree in Computational Science from Harvard, with courses at MIT, and participated in exchange and research programs at UCLA and Stanford. Her expertise in systematic trading, structured finance, and DeFi shapes Block Street’s emphasis on scalable, execution-driven liquidity infrastructure.
Mike Wu is the CTO and Co-Founder. A systems engineer, he has managed large-scale infrastructure initiatives at Google and Cruise. He holds B.S. and M.S. degrees in Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University and was a global winner in ACM competitions. Mike focuses on distributed systems, low-latency architecture, and developer tooling, which are central to Block Street’s multichain liquidity infrastructure.
The founding team merges institutional quantitative knowledge with advanced engineering skills to create infrastructure for the next wave of tokenized capital markets. The company receives backing from venture investors and angels with experience in global finance and digital asset sectors.
