Cryptopedia - Redbelly Network
Redbelly Network stands as the globe’s initial formally verified blockchain, a project created through a partnership between the University of Sydney and CSIRO, the Australian National Science Agency. It holds United States Patent #12093247. The platform allows issuers of real-world assets (RWA) to tokenize and trade structured products that remain compliant on-chain. By embedding complete user identity and accountability directly into the transaction layer, Redbelly safeguards personally identifiable information (PII) using zero-knowledge proofs (ZKP) alongside verifiable credentials. This approach guarantees adherence to licensing and jurisdictional rules while removing the necessity for repeated KYC checks. Compliance measures are enforced automatically and can be tailored by jurisdiction and asset class, which does away with paper-based audits and offline registries. The network empowers asset issuers to construct digital registries, establishing a single on-chain source of truth for whole asset classes and supporting the development of new structured financial instruments from tokenized assets. Redbelly collaborates with challenger-brand issuers possessing existing assets and network effects, thereby lowering issuer risk through enhanced accountability and ensuring clean liquidity by default.
