Cryptopedia - Myria
Myria functions as an Ethereum Layer 2 scaling solution, specifically engineered to scale NFTs, blockchain gaming, and other applications. In partnership with StarkWare, Myria’s scaling infrastructure provides instant trade confirmation and 0 gas fee when minting and trading NFTs, ensuring user asset security remains intact. Built on StarkWare’s STARK prover, the L2 employs Zero-Knowledge Rollup (ZK-Rollup) technology to bundle many transfers into a single transaction, facilitating up to 9,000 transactions per section (TPS).
The project is developing Myria L2, a non-custodial Ethereum Layer 2 scaling solution, along with a full suite of auxiliary blockchain tooling designed to support tokenization across various verticals. By using StarkWare’s prover and rollup zero-knowledge technology to aggregate thousands of layer 2 transactions into single Ethereum transactions, Myria L2 aims for dramatically increased throughput and lower transaction costs, which are prerequisites for seamless token experiences.
By constructing an Ethereum-anchored L2 instead of a loosely-coupled or independent sidechain, Myria intends to meet the performance requirements of demanding use cases without sacrificing the ability to leverage Ethereum’s battle-tested consensus protocol. The team states that the tradeoff between genuine usability and fully decentralized security is a false one, as Myria L2 offers both.
To ensure developers can access this harmony of scalability and security, Myria provides a suite of developer tools, including a diverse array of Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), Software Development Kits (SDKs), and a Domain Specific Language (DSL). These aim to abstract away the complexity of writing and interacting with zero-knowledge compatible smart contracts without curtailing creator ingenuity. This means any transaction, from minting an NFT or launching a new collection to transferring or exchanging existing tokens, requires no direct smart contract or network knowledge from the developer. Any developer who can connect to a REST API knows how to produce, manage, and interact with tokenization projects on Myria L2.
Central to achieving this without restricting use-case flexibility is Myria’s tokenization rules engine and Domain Specific Language (DSL). While existing smart contract development tools often box developers in by making key decisions on their behalf, Myria’s rules engine and DSL will grant developers the ability to customize low-level aspects of their assets without complicating the process for novice users.
Myria believes two key impediments currently hinder the industry’s goal of enabling more people to benefit from blockchain technology: 1) the tradeoff between security and scalability, and 2) the immense technical learning curve for development teams unfamiliar with existing blockchain stacks. To mitigate these barriers, Myria is creating an all-in-one blockchain platform, including a Myria L2 wallet and NFT marketplace, to enable third-party gaming studios, NFT communities, and developers to easily develop blockchain-powered games, DApps, and experiences. Through B2B technology solutions and a developer grant program, Myria’s Partner division aims to enable third-party developers to onboard onto the blockchain and join the next frontier of the virtual economy.
Myria Studios is a player-focused gaming studio centered around AAA quality games that drives true ownership and rewards. It leverages Myria’s core stack to create an unprecedented blockchain gaming hub and metaverse.
MYRIA is an ERC-20 utility token. It serves as the basis for transactions on the Myria Layer 2 scaling protocol, with additional in-game utilities amongst selected game titles. MYRIA will be distributed to players, node operators, and other participants in the ecosystem, creating a circular economy between users to accelerate ecosystem growth.
