Trump Media moves $342 million in bitcoin to Crypto.com, blockchain data show

A wallet supposedly linked to Trump Media & Technology Group, the parent company of Truth Social, have transferred a large amount of bitcoin to Crypto.com. The move has once again raised questions about whether the company is reducing its crypto treasury.
Trump Media sent 4,259 BTC, worth roughly $434 million, to Crypto.com in two batches of 2,140 BTC and 2,119 BTC at 02:17 UTC, according to source Arkham. The coins moved from addresses labeled “2028 Convertible Notes Collateral” to an address labeled “34jvU…,” reportedly owned by Crypto.com, in two nearly equal-sized transactions.
The first transaction sent 2,140.03 BTC, while the second sent 2,119.31 BTC to the same destination.

The timing is notable.
Trump Media’s second-quarter filing said 4,260.73 BTC was being used as collateral for its convertible notes as of June 30, with withdrawals or distributions of those coins restricted under the loan indenture. Arkham’s labels line up with that arrangement, but they do not explain why the coins were moved.
The company also faces a cash-repurchase provision later this month, according to its Nov. 2 securities filing, which said holders of its convertible notes can require repayment on Nov. 30, potentially forcing it to pay roughly $1 billion if all holders exercise that right. The filing warned that if refinancing or other measures prove insufficient, Trump Media may have to sell bitcoin or other digital assets to fund the repurchases.
The latest transfer is equal to about 30% of the roughly 14,139 BTC Trump Media said it held, including pledged coins, as of July 31. But that figure is from an older disclosure, so it does not prove the company’s bitcoin holdings have fallen.
CoinDesk reached out to Trump Media for a comment on the latest transfer and its coin stash and did not receive a response as of this writing.
Onchain move doesn’t imply selling
Onchain movement of coins is often taken to represent an investor's intention to sell; however, that’s not always true. Movement alone does not establish a sale.
Still, the latest flow is large enough to draw attention of the market, several blockchain data tracking handles said on X.
“Is this the beginning of a BTC sell-off? For now, a transfer to an exchange or custodian doesn’t automatically mean the Bitcoin is being sold. Could be a custody move or something else entirely,” EyeOnChain noted. “Still, $343M worth of #BTC moving is not something the market will ignore.”
Similar transactions in the past were made for custody or trading management.
In May 2026, wallets linked to Trump Media moved about 2,650 BTC (roughly $205 million) to Crypto.com. A Trump Media spokesperson told CoinDesk at the time that the firm transferred, but did not sell, the bitcoin as part of its broader trading strategy
In early August 2026, another 2,628 BTC (about $165 million) went to the same platform. The company said that transfer was for custody management and was not a sale. Crypto.com has served as one of the firm’s custody partners since it launched its bitcoin treasury strategy.
