Gonka operates as a decentralized blockchain network engineered to provide efficient computation specifically for AI training and inference. The ecosystem functions through three main groups:
- Hosts secure the network and receive rewards for supplying GPU computing power;
- Developers deploy AI applications free from the restrictions of closed large language models or traditional cloud infrastructure;
- Users generate demand by utilizing inference services.
The protocol employs a unique proof-of-work consensus model that avoids squandering processing power on mere security or validation. Instead, it channels this energy into productive tasks, ensuring that nearly 99% of the compute capacity on Gonka is dedicated to useful work. The native token of the platform is GNK.
At present, the Gonka network has expanded to offer an aggregate compute capacity roughly equal to 5000 H100 GPUs, with continued growth expected. The Gonka coin is not currently listed on major centralized exchanges and can only be obtained via mining.
GNK serves as the fundamental economic and utility unit for the Gonka decentralized AI compute network. Its functions include:
- paying participants who supply computational resources like GPUs;
- facilitating AI inference and training operations; and
- determining the cost of accessing these computing services within the system.
Researchers and developers spend GNK to cover AI compute tasks, whereas hosts earn GNK rewards based on the volume and quality of the compute they deliver.
GNK tokens can be held in various wallets supported by the Cosmos ecosystem:
- Keplr
- Cosmostation
- Fox Wallet
inferenced CLI - a command-line tool designed for local account management and performing network operations on Gonka.
