Cryptopedia - DragonSwap
DragonSwap, which went live in June 2024, operates as the native liquidity hub and automated market maker (AMM) for the Sei Network. The platform accommodates various liquidity models, such as constant product (XYK) pools, concentrated liquidity options, and permissionless yield farms designed to encourage liquidity provision across numerous trading pairs.
By utilizing Sei’s high-throughput, parallelized infrastructure, DragonSwap achieves low latency and rapid finality for transactions. This setup provides a smooth experience for users, especially traders who prioritize quick execution and lower slippage. The protocol’s scalability in response to rising user numbers and volume is further supported by the Sei Network’s Giga upgrade.
Liquidity providers (LPs) on DragonSwap have the flexibility to select either standard XYK pools or concentrated liquidity positions for their capital deployment. In return, LPs receive a portion of the trading fees generated by their respective pools. Beyond these organic earnings, the protocol distributes emissions-based incentives to boost liquidity on key trading pairs, with these rewards managed internally and adjusted periodically according to market dynamics.
The DRG token powers DragonSwap and is central to its incentive structure. It is utilized to reward LPs, initiate liquidity, and foster ecosystem growth, with a share of token emissions directed toward farms and other initiatives that stimulate network activity and user participation.
Built on a modular architecture to facilitate future upgrades and integrations, DragonSwap features open-source smart contracts that have been audited to maintain security and transparency. The design prioritizes efficiency, accessibility, and sustainability. The project is led by founders with experience in successful DeFi infrastructure and protocols, aiming to construct a durable trading layer that complements Sei’s vision for scalable, app-specific performance.
