Stride Staked TIA (stTIA) utilizes liquid staking technology, allowing token holders to earn rewards while keeping their assets liquid. This approach lets users employ staked tokens in financial activities without the lock-up periods typical of traditional staking.
The system operates on the Stride protocol, a sovereign zone within the Cosmos ecosystem that enables liquid staking across any Cosmos chain. Upon staking, users immediately receive tokens like stTIA, which represent the underlying staked TIA and can be converted back to the original asset. This structure supports participation in decentralized finance (DeFi) actions, such as lending or liquidity providing (LPing), alongside earning staking rewards.
Security relies on the Cosmos ecosystem’s modular architecture and the Tendermint consensus mechanism. Tendermint uses a Byzantine Fault Tolerance (BFT) model to validate and finalize transactions efficiently, protecting the network’s integrity by withstanding a specific number of malicious nodes.
Stride distinguishes its staking model by charging no fees on staked tokens and accumulating rewards in real time. These rewards are compounded on the backend, growing user earnings automatically without manual effort. This design aims to incentivize staking, thereby boosting network security and utility.
TIA, the native token of the Celestia modular data availability network, facilitates operations within that system. When staked via Stride, TIA becomes stTIA, enabling seamless transactions, transfers, and DeFi engagement without forfeiting rewards. Stride’s support for multiple blockchains allows for cross-chain staking, enhancing versatility and aligning with Cosmos’s interoperability goals. By maintaining liquidity during staking, Stride Staked TIA seeks to advance blockchain utility and encourage broader participation.
